Tres Rios Wetlands is “the” place for local birders to view more than 150 different species of birds.  Following are photos I captured during my recent visit in January with a friend who is a “birder.”

Here are directions to the Tres Rios Wetlands.  You will need a permit to access the Wetlands. The permit is available online via the Tres Rios Wetlands; permits are valid for 5 months:

Driving Directions:
13 miles southwest of central Phoenix; go west on Papago Freeway (I-10) to 91st Ave exit, south for 4.6 mi to Main Gate of Waste Water Treatment Plant on left. Go ¼ mi on 91st Ave to Gate 3, and drive straight back to fenced parking.
