Red-naped Sapsucker, a member of the Woodpecker family. It looks as though this particular Red-naped Sapsucker is building/tending to its nest. It will lay 4-6, sometimes 3-7 white eggs, incubating usually 10-13 days.
Captured this photograph while on a Christmas Bird Count at the Boyce Thompson Arboretum, Superior Arizona.
