I camped with friends in Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument, Twin Peaks Group Campground, over the Easter weekend. Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument is in southern Arizona, south of Ajo, west of Tucson and east of Yuma.  It was Franklin D. Roosevelt “..who signed the proclamation on April 13, 1937, using the authority granted in the Antiquities Act of 1906.” The Monument was named after the Organ Pipe Cactus found only in the Monument’s area.  If you want to experience “quiet” Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument is the place to visit. Plenty of hiking trails, scenic drives, lots of wildlife, birds, and wildflowers (Globemallow, Mexican Gold Poppy, Lupine, Desert Marigold, Chuparosa).  Did I mention the area is SAFE? It is! Following are photos I captured over the weekend.
