A “friend” invited me to hike the Marcus Landslide trail (a gentle 4 mile hike) in the East end of the McDowell Sonoran Preserve. This was my first time hiking in the Preserve’s east end and I must admit, I was pleasantly surprised to see an up-to-date parking area as well as a newly built building complete with women’s and men’s restroom. The area is spectacular! The views of Four Peaks, Weavers Needle and surrounding area is breathtaking; it is also a starting point to Tom’s Thumb trail (from the east side). KUDOS to the Sonoran Preserve Stewards who are available to answer questions, and give maps of the area.  We are truly blessed to have such a magnificent Park in Scottsdale.  Get out and hike!  Following are just a few photos (of many) I captured in the Preserve.  Enjoy!
