I had the privilege of viewing two great movies this past weekend.  Woody Allen’s “Blue Jasmine” and Nat Faxon, Jim Rash‘s movie “The Way Way Back.”  Both were excellent movies! I highly recommend both!!

I am NOT a Woody Allen fan by any means, but I must admit I love Cate Blanchett and decided to bite the bullet and pay the admission price to view “Blue Jasmine.”  In my opinion, this is Cate Blanchett’s BEST performance ever.  Her acting, mannerisms, and dialogue throughout the movie were astounding to say the least! I left the movie feeling sorry for someone who was so full of self-pity, drugs, and alcohol. It’s a movie about deception, greed, anger, deceit; just a few of the many “7 deadly sins.”

On the other hand, “The Way Way Back” directed by Nat Faxon and Jim Rash is a coming of age movie.  Duncan, a 14-year old is forced to vacation with his mother and her self-righteous boyfriend.  Duncan, low on self-esteem discovers a friend who really makes a difference in his life.  It’s a story about adult relationships, about trust, about discovering self-worth. The movie will make you laugh, and cry.  Don’t miss this!
