Attended the last performance of “The Mountaintop” (produced by Arizona Theatre Company) at the Herberger Theatre. The play opened on November 14. The play takes place on the eve of Martin Luther King’s assassination in 1968. The imagined play of Martin Luther King, actor James T. Alfred, presents the audience with the human side of Martin Luther King. This is a two-actor play which was produced in London, 2009. It’s really an imagined play; we discover he is a smoker, a womanizer and yet seems to be devoted to his wife and children.

We chose Bink’s Midtown for an after theatre dinner.  We arrived in time for Happy Hour (2:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. every day).  Half off all Wine, Beer and Well drinks.  We chose Deep Fried Baby Back ribs with Honey Hot Sauce, Mussels with Curry Coconut Broth; Arugula Salad with Figs, Apricots, Pecans, pecorino, Horseradish-honey Vinaigrette; Mixed Greens Salad with Blue Cheese, Pumpkin Seeds. The location of Bink’s Midtown is 2320 East Osborn Rd., Phoenix.  Excellent food and worth the price!
