Arizona has Desert Botanical Garden and Sicily has the well-known Orto Botanico de Palermo is a botanical garden and research/education institution. I captured this photo during my 2011 trip to Sicily and was so amazed at its size and growth. The “Ficus magnoliodes” more commonly known as the Moreton Bay Fig is a large evergreen banyan tree of the Moraceae on display in the Orto Botanico in Palermo, Sicily. I found this tree, its size and shape to be simply amazing, like no other tree I’ve ever seen.
