Julia Longwing, is this butterfly’s common name; Dryas Julia is its scientific name. The Julia Butterflies can be found in Brazil to Southern Texas and Florida.

Fun Fact

“Longwings take part in a fascinating behavior known as communal roosting. Roosting in butterflies occurs when a number of butterflies gather to rest for the night, typically on a single branch.” Yes, you can see hundreds of butterfly species in the Desert Botanical Garden Butterfly Pavilion.
