I happened to stumble on a La Quinceanera (15th Birthday) photo shoot while roaming the grounds of the Scottsdale Civic Center Mall. This lovely young lady wearing a spectacular blue gown caught my eye and I just had to ask the group of young men dressed in uniform “what’s going on?”  They were family members (cousins? brothers? friends?) dressed in uniform waiting to celebrate the lovely young lady’s La Quinceanera. “The celebration is a way to acknowledge that a young woman has reached sexual maturity and is of a marriageable age.”  As you can see by the photo, these young men were more than happy to pose for me!

Here she is decked out in a fancy full-length dress – beautiful!

Notice the matching headdress.

Cousins? Brothers? Friends? All were decked out in uniform, ready to take part in La Quinceanera!
