I was totally amazed and impressed with the similarity between Sicily‘s and Arizona’s flora. The “Orto Botanica de Palermo Gardens” are home to a wealth of lush vegetation and buildings dating back to 1785. The top photo was captured in Sicily’s Orto Botanico (Palermo) and is a member of the Aloe family. The second photo is a member of the Agave family captured at the Boyce Thompson Arboretum on Highway 60, mile post 223, east of Phoenix. Small world, isn’t it?
