I had an opportunity to attend and capture the beautiful Chihuly glass art, 2008 at Desert Botanical Garden; following are just a few of the many photos.  “Chihuly: The Nature of Glass – an exhibition by renowned artist Dale Chihuly – opened to sell-out crowds on November 22, 2008, connecting the community and the Desert Botanical Garden like never before. Dale Chihuly is known for his grand, innovative glass sculptures and use of vibrant colors. Over the period of its six-month run, the exhibition:

• Attracted more than 550,000 visitors
• Consisted of 17 major pieces located throughout the Garden
• Featured dazzling works of art, including The Sun, which consisted of 1,200 individual pieces of glass mounted on a 550-pound armature
• Reinterpreted previously exhibited pieces by integrating them with new glass sculptures”
