I and a “friend” hiked the Boulder Canyon Trail today. The trail begins at Canyon Lake Trailhead; parking is available (free) in the Canyon Lake Marina parking lot. The Indian Paint Mine was our destination and turnaround point, approximately 7.5 miles. What an absolutely beautiful day for an Arizona hike; winds were 4+ mph, temperature was in low 50’s (wind chill was probably somewhere in the high 40’s). Not a cloud in the sky and everywhere you looked the mountains were clear and crisp. We practically had the trail to ourselves, passing only a handful of people (and Boy Scout Troup!!). Get out and HIKE!!
